We are seeking an experienced Competent Electrical Engineer (CEE) certified by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga - ST) up to 275kV / 500kV to lead high-voltage (HV/EHV) power infrastructure deployment for hyperscale data center developments in Malaysia. You will act as the designated competent engineer overseeing grid interconnection, high-voltage substations (GIS/AIS), switching operations, and testing & commissioning in compliance with national statutory requirements and utility standards (TNB Grid Code).

About The Job

• Statutory Compliance & Supervision: Serve as the registered Competent Electrical Engineer with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) for project sites; enforce Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994 compliance.
• High-Voltage Operations: Lead and supervise switching, isolation, and safety procedures on 132kV/275kV/500kV substations, power transformers, and switchgear.
• Grid Interconnection: Liaise directly with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and authorities on scheme approvals, energization schedules, and grid code compliance.
• Testing & Commissioning (T&C): Witness and endorse factory acceptance (FAT), site acceptance (SAT), protection relay coordination, and final energization for critical transmission-level assets.
• Risk & Safety Management: Review Method Statements, Risk Assessments (HIRARC), and issue Permit-to-Work (PTW) for high-voltage and live-line interventions.
  
  

Skills/requirements

• Registration & Certification: Valid Competent Electrical Engineer (JEK) certificate issued by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga), certified for 275kV (500kV qualification or exposure is an advantage).
• Professional Standing: Registered Graduate or Professional Engineer (PE / PEPC) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Experience: Minimum 6–10 years of experience in high-voltage substation engineering, transmission systems, or mission-critical/data center utility interconnections.
• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), transformer bays, protection relays, and TNB transmission interconnection protocols.
