About Funder

Private markets remain opaque. Company financials are fragmented, valuations are difficult to verify, and investors lack reliable data to understand private businesses.

Funder is building the intelligence platform for private markets.

Our platform brings together private-company profiles, financial performance, funding history, valuation estimates, comparable companies, and institutional-grade research.

We are starting with an information-first product focused on transparency and data, with no buying, selling, or trading functionality in the initial phase. Our long-term ambition is to build the infrastructure for a more transparent and liquid private-market ecosystem.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Co-Founder & CTO to own Funder's technical vision and build the product from the ground up.

This is a hands-on founding role, not a conventional engineering management position. You'll shape the architecture, write code, build the data infrastructure, and turn the product vision into reality.

What You'll Build

Private-Market Data

• Build pipelines for private-company financials, funding rounds, and operating metrics.
• Develop reliable data collection, verification, and source-tracking systems.
• Create structured company profiles with clear data provenance.

Valuation & Analytics

• Build valuation models using comparable companies, financial metrics, and funding history.
• Develop valuation ranges, sector benchmarks, and company comparisons.
• Make estimates transparent, explainable, and traceable.

Product & Infrastructure

• Turn our existing prototype into a production-ready platform.
• Build search, dashboards, watchlists, company profiles, and research tools.
• Establish secure access controls, audit logs, and scalable infrastructure.

Long-Term Vision

Design the platform to evolve into broader private-market infrastructure as the business grows and regulatory requirements allow.

Who We're Looking For

• A strong engineer who can architect systems and ship production software.
• Experience building data-intensive products, fintech, analytics, or complex B2B platforms.
• Strong product judgement and the ability to move from prototype to production.
• High ownership, resourcefulness, and a founder's mindset.
• Willingness to build hands-on rather than simply manage a team.

Experience in financial data, capital markets, valuation systems, or institutional investment platforms is a major advantage.

What Success Looks Like

First 90 days

• Define the technical architecture and product roadmap.
• Evaluate and improve the existing prototype.
• Launch the first version of the private-company intelligence platform.
• Establish data-quality, security, and valuation foundations.
• Begin onboarding pilot companies and institutional users.
