• Promote a positive HSE culture, safe working behaviours, and continuous improvement in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance through the consistent implementation of Sodexo’s HSE requirements, client-specific HSE standards, and applicable legal requirements.
• Support the project team in implementing, monitoring, and improving Sodexo’s HSE policies, procedures, programmes, and operational standards.
• Monitor and review site compliance with HSE standards, policies, procedures, and applicable international standards, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, as well as relevant Malaysian legislation, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and its applicable amendments.
• Develop, review, and maintain project-specific HSE documentation, including the Project HSE Plan, Risk Assessments, Confined Space Rescue Plans, Ventilation Plans, Safe Operating Procedures, and other relevant HSE documents.
• Promote HSE awareness among employees, contractors, suppliers, visitors, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Review, develop, and update HSE-related policies, procedures, work instructions, and other documentation to ensure continued compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct internal HSE audits, workplace inspections, and operational reviews to verify compliance with company and client HSE policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Plan and conduct scheduled workplace inspections to identify unsafe acts and conditions, verify compliance with the Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Sub-Permit systems, and monitor the timely closure of corrective and preventive actions arising from incident investigations, audits, and workplace inspections.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver HSE training and induction programmes for employees, suppliers, visitors, and contractors, as required.
• Ensure all HSE incidents, including injuries, property damage, and near misses, are reported and recorded in the Salus system, investigated appropriately, and followed up with the necessary corrective and preventive actions.
• Collect, analyse, and monitor HSE performance data, including Safety Observation Card submissions, and prepare and submit monthly HSE performance reports in accordance with reporting requirements.
• Ensure safe systems of work are established, documented, communicated, and implemented for all activities through appropriate risk assessments, safe operating procedures, and effective control measures.
• Monitor and ensure the safe operation and use of equipment, machinery, and vehicles in accordance with established safety requirements and procedures.
• Ensure confined space assessments are conducted by designated competent or authorised personnel, as applicable, and that all required control measures, permits, and clearances are in place before entry is permitted.
• Perform any other HSE-related duties as assigned by the Client, Site Manager, Territory HSE Manager, or other authorised management representatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, tertiary qualification, or Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) or a related discipline.
• Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Malaysia, with a valid registration (Green Book).
• Proven experience in project mobilisation, including the establishment and implementation of site-specific HSE systems, procedures, and documentation.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant HSE experience in a similar role, preferably within a high-risk industry. Experience in the mining industry or shipyard operations will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of heavy equipment operations, vehicle-related hazards, and appropriate risk control measures.
• Ability to liaise and collaborate effectively with relevant regulatory authorities, client representatives, contractors, and other key stakeholders.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
