Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, commercially driven, and highly articulate Partnership Manager to spearhead the development of strategic business partnerships with various service providers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, engaging, negotiating, and securing partnerships with various service providers, with the objective of expanding the Company's customer acquisition channels and creating opportunities to offer financing solutions to eligible gig workers, including riders, drivers, and independent service providers, digital wallets or other market participants.

This role requires a confident and commercially astute professional who can engage senior-level decision-makers, develop compelling partnership proposals, negotiate mutually beneficial arrangements, and independently drive partnership initiatives from initial engagement through to successful implementation.

We are looking for someone who can open doors, build relationships, secure commercial agreements, and translate partnership opportunities into measurable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Partnership Development & Business Expansion

  • Identify, evaluate, develop, and secure strategic partnership and collaboration opportunities across various industries, business sectors, platforms, and commercial ecosystems.
  • Prioritise initial partnership development within the gig economy and digital wallet ecosystems, including gig platforms, delivery and mobility service providers, e-wallet operators, and businesses serving gig workers or digitally active consumers.
  • Continuously identify opportunities beyond the initial focus sectors, including financial institutions, fintech companies, digital platforms, corporations, technology providers, service providers, and other potential strategic partners.
  • Explore a broad range of potential collaborations that support the Company's business objectives, market expansion, customer acquisition, financing solutions, and long-term commercial growth.
  • Proactively approach potential partners, establish relationships with key decision-makers, arrange business meetings, and initiate commercial discussions.
  • Explore innovative partnership models that enable the Company to expand its market reach, introduce financing solutions, strengthen distribution channels, and create additional business opportunities.
  • Develop and present commercially attractive partnership proposals demonstrating clear strategic and financial value for all parties.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and secure mutually beneficial partnership agreements.
  • Manage the entire partnership lifecycle, from prospecting and initial engagement through negotiation, agreement execution, onboarding, activation, and ongoing relationship management.

2. Corporate Representation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent the Company professionally in corporate meetings, partnership discussions, industry events, business networking sessions, and strategic collaboration opportunities.
  • Build and maintain credible relationships with senior executives, founders, business owners, commercial leaders, financial institutions, and key decision-makers across different industries.
  • Confidently present the Company's business proposition, financing solutions, commercial capabilities, and potential collaboration models.
  • Engage prospective partners to understand their business operations, commercial objectives, customer networks, market positioning, and opportunities for mutual business development.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic alliances, distribution partnerships, joint marketing initiatives, customer acquisition collaborations, and other commercially beneficial arrangements.
  • Act as the primary relationship manager for external partners, ensuring effective communication, stakeholder alignment, and sustainable long-term partnerships.
  • Strengthen the Company's market presence, commercial positioning, and reputation as a credible strategic and financing partner across relevant industries.

3. Partnership Projects & Execution

  • Lead and coordinate strategic partnership initiatives from initial conceptualisation through implementation, activation, and completion.
  • Translate agreed commercial arrangements into structured implementation plans with clear deliverables, timelines, responsibilities, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Technology, and Management, to facilitate successful partnership execution.
  • Coordinate partner onboarding, operational integration, business processes, customer referral arrangements, and partnership activation activities where applicable.
  • Develop practical execution strategies for different collaboration models, ensuring operational readiness and commercial feasibility.
  • Ensure proposed partnerships are commercially viable, operationally practical, and aligned with applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor project milestones, identify implementation challenges, and proactively resolve issues to ensure timely execution.
  • Take full ownership of assigned partnership initiatives and remain accountable for agreed deliverables, implementation progress, and commercial outcomes.

4. Commercial Growth & Partnership Performance

  • Develop commercial business cases to evaluate potential collaborations, including market opportunities, revenue potential, customer acquisition, operational requirements, strategic benefits, and expected business contribution.
  • Identify and recommend suitable partnership structures, including referral arrangements, strategic alliances, co-marketing initiatives, distribution partnerships, B2B collaborations, B2B2C models, and other innovative commercial arrangements.
  • Explore opportunities to expand the Company's financing solutions through new business channels, partner networks, customer segments, and distribution ecosystems.
  • Establish and track relevant performance indicators, including:
  • Qualified partnership leads and commercial opportunities.
  • Meetings and engagements with key decision-makers.
  • Partnership proposals submitted and commercial negotiations completed.
  • Strategic partnerships and collaboration agreements secured.
  • Partnerships successfully onboarded and activated.
  • Qualified customer referrals, financing applications, and business opportunities generated, where applicable.
  • Revenue contribution, customer acquisition, and measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Monitor active partnership performance and identify opportunities to strengthen partner engagement, expand collaboration scope, and improve commercial results.
  • Conduct market research, industry analysis, and competitor benchmarking to identify emerging business opportunities, potential partnership ecosystems, and market developments.
  • Proactively recommend new partnership strategies, innovative collaboration models, and business expansion opportunities to Management.
  • Provide regular partnership pipeline reports, project updates, performance analysis, and commercial recommendations to Management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in strategic partnerships, business development, commercial growth, corporate alliances, or related functions.
  • Broad understanding of business ecosystems, strategic collaborations, commercial partnership structures, and market expansion strategies.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, digital banking, digital wallets, digital lending, gig economy platforms, or technology-driven businesses will be highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with excellent command of both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Highly articulate, persuasive, and confident, with the ability to engage senior executives, influence decision-makers, and deliver compelling business pitches.
  • Proven track record in securing strategic partnerships, negotiating commercial agreements, developing business relationships, and delivering measurable commercial results.
  • Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, business development capabilities, stakeholder management, and project execution skills.
  • Ability to identify opportunities across different industries, develop innovative partnership concepts, and translate commercial ideas into actionable business initiatives.
  • Proactive, resourceful, results-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Established professional networks across relevant industries, particularly within Malaysia's fintech, digital wallet, financial services, and gig economy ecosystems, will be a significant advantage.

The Ideal Candidate

While our initial focus will be on gig economy participants and digital wallet providers, we seek someone capable of exploring any commercially viable collaboration that contributes to the Company's growth, market expansion, customer acquisition, and long-term business objectives.
