Responsibilities
Manage and maintain production databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB.
Operate AWS database services such as RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, and DynamoDB.
Optimize database performance through SQL tuning, indexing, monitoring, and capacity planning.
Design and maintain high-availability, replication, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
Troubleshoot database incidents, perform root cause analysis, and improve system reliability.
Automate database operations using Python, Bash, Terraform, or similar tools.
Implement database security, access controls, encryption, and compliance best practices.
Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and development teams on database migrations, upgrades, and architecture improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of database administration or engineering experience, including hands-on AWS database experience.
Strong expertise in MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, including performance tuning, replication, and high availability.
Solid experience with AWS RDS, Aurora, or other managed database services.
Proficiency in Linux, SQL troubleshooting, and scripting (Python/Bash).
Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Understanding of cloud networking, database security, and disaster recovery.
Experience supporting high-traffic, business-critical production systems.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
Experience with Redis, MongoDB, Kafka, or distributed systems.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, AWS multi-region deployments, and cloud migration.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
Background in large-scale internet platforms, e-commerce, or SaaS environments.

In this role you'll help our clients identify & hire talent people not only with the right skills and experience, but also the right motivational and cultural fit - people who'll stay and perform.
