The Company
Our client is a Fortune 500 business in the financial services and data sector, with a well-established regional presence in Singapore. They need an experienced commercial lawyer on a three-month secondment to negotiate and close a heavy pipeline of contracts before year end. The role covers the region. You'll sit within the existing legal team but report to a non-legal business manager, so you'll be trusted to run your own workload and make sound calls on your own.
Responsibilities
- Own a high-volume pipeline of commercial agreements across the region, including customer, vendor, licensing, services and confidentiality agreements, and drive each one to signature before year end
- Lead negotiations directly with counterparties and keep deals moving to tight deadlines
- Advise business stakeholders on contractual risk and commercial terms in clear, practical language
- Work with the wider legal team on templates and positions, and escalate non-standard or higher-risk matters where needed
- Track and report contract status so the business has clear visibility of what's closed and what's outstanding
Requirements
- Commonwealth-qualified lawyer
- Ideally 4–7 years' PQE, with flexibility for candidates with strong general commercial contracts experience
- Proven negotiation skills and comfort closing deals independently under time pressure
- Regional or cross-border contracting experience is a plus
- Confident advising non-legal stakeholders and working with minimal day-to-day legal supervision
- Available to start at short notice
The Details
- 3-month secondment
- SGD 8,000 per month
- Hybrid working, with 2–3 days a week in the CBD office
