Rhino Partners is looking for a Data Engineer to support the maintenance, enhancement, and operations of enterprise data platforms and analytics solutions for a government agency.

You will work closely with technical teams, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure data pipelines, dashboards, and supporting infrastructure remain reliable, secure, and scalable. The role involves a combination of data engineering, business intelligence, platform support, and DevOps, with opportunities to contribute to cloud transformation initiatives.

Data Engineering & Platform Operations

• Maintain and support data platforms, including monitoring jobs, troubleshooting failures, and recovering data pipelines.
• Develop, optimise, and test data pipelines to support data integration, transformation, and analytics.
• Investigate and resolve technical incidents involving connectivity, APIs, services, and infrastructure.
• Ensure data pipelines comply with established data management standards, governance policies, and security requirements.
• Document technical configurations, system changes, and operational procedures.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Tableau or Amazon QuickSight.
• Design intuitive dashboard interfaces to support business reporting and decision-making.
• Write SQL scripts to extract, transform, integrate, and analyse data from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with data scientists to prepare datasets and operationalise analytical models.
• Develop monitoring reports covering platform usage, performance, and security events.

DevOps, Infrastructure & Cloud

• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate development, testing, and deployment.
• Support cloud transformation initiatives for enterprise data products.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to resolve platform issues and implement technical improvements.
• Identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Develop unit tests and generate mock datasets to validate data pipelines and applications.
• Research and recommend technical solutions to improve platform reliability, performance, and scalability.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, or IT Infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing, transformation, integration, and automation.
• Hands-on experience developing dashboards using Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, or similar BI tools.
• Good understanding of dashboard UX design and data visualisation best practices.
• Experience supporting data pipelines, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining data platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents preferred.

• Experience administering IT infrastructure, including servers, databases, and networks.
• Experience with Tableau Server, Talend, Microsoft SQL Server, or SAS Viya administration.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, or SHIP-HATS.
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
