Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking for an Accountant who will be responsible for maintaining the organization’s financial health through effective budget management, financial forecasting, and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the organization's strategic growth by analyzing financial data, optimizing cash flow, and provide timely insights to the senior leadership team on profitability and cost-reduction initiatives to achieve long-term business objectives.

This role also involves executing a wide range of financial functions, including month-end and year-end closing, accounts payable and receivable management, tax filing, general ledger review, forecasting and budgeting, as well as treasury operations.

Job Description

Handle Management Accounting and Statutory Reporting

• Prepare accurate and timely management reports and disclosure notes for Poh Heng Jewellery.
• Review reporting packages, journal entries, and subsidiary allocations prepared by respective team members.
• Review treasury and capital account transactions through analysis and reconciliation of account information.
• Perform account reconciliations and provide analysis of the organization’s financial transactions.

Support Strategic Planning Initiatives

• Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities
• Participate in simulation of data / feasibility studies as requested by senior management

Fixed Assets Management

• Oversees end to end process for fixed asset management by ensuring timely capitalization, accurate depreciation, and prompt recording of transfers and disposals

Treasury Management

• Manage cash flow, optimize funds by closely monitoring various financial instruments used by Poh Heng and renew bank guarantees on time
• Review gold price movements to maintain accurate retail pricing

Process business transactions and reports using information technology tools

• Administer the NetSuite system, ensuring all functionalities operate efficiently and effectively.
• Extract and analyze the data and present the insights to management using relevant accounting information systems and software.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, business activity reports, and financial forecasts for management and external stakeholders.

Statutory Compliance

• Ensure strict compliance with regulations involving the filing of financial and tax returns including GST returns.
• · Liaise with external parties such as external Auditors, tax agent, company secretary.

Team Management

• Provide timely support and effectively manage the finance team, fostering a collaborative work environment and ensuring that all team members are able to achieve their assigned deliverables.

Perform other ad-hoc duties as needed

Experience and Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 5 years of experience in accounting or related field
• Supervisory Experience Required
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations and financial reporting standards' requirements
• Proficient in Netsuite or other accounting software
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as a team and independently as well

Pay: $5,000.00 - $7,000.00 per month
