What you'll be doing
- Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation, including washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients (fish, vegetables, rice, etc.)
- Prepare and cook sushi rice according to standard recipes
- Wash, sanitize, and organize kitchen utensils, equipment, and workstations
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen at all times
- Restock ingredients and supplies during service as needed
- Support the sushi chef by preparing garnishes, sauces, and side items
- Dispose of kitchen waste properly and maintain a tidy work area
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (e.g., HACCP standards)
- Help with dishwashing and general kitchen cleanup duties
- Monitor food storage temperatures and report any issues
- Assist during peak hours to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow instructions from kitchen supervisors or head chef promptly
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management
Requirements (optional to include):
- Prior kitchen experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends/holidays
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices
Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
