Job Description

Starhigh Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our project team based in Linggi, Negeri Sembilan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the commercial, contractual, and cost management aspects of large-scale construction and marine infrastructure projects, ensuring effective financial control and contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in quantity surveying, contract administration, and commercial management.
• Proven experience managing large-scale construction or infrastructure contracts valued at RM1 billion or above.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, tendering, procurement, cost control, and commercial management.
• Extensive experience preparing and evaluating Bills of Quantities (BQ), tender documents, progress claims, Variation Orders (VO), and final accounts.
• Experience handling contractual claims, disputes, and Extension of Time (EOT) matters.
• Strong understanding of project budgeting, cost forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
• Experience in subcontractor management, procurement, and contractual negotiations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant quantity surveying software.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in marine construction, dredging, port development, or major infrastructure projects will be an added advantage.
• Willing to be based at the Linggi project site.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all quantity surveying, commercial, and contractual activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, cost estimates, cash flow projections, and financial forecasts.
• Manage tendering processes, procurement activities, subcontractor evaluations, and contract administration.
• Review, evaluate, and certify progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
• Monitor project expenditure and identify potential financial, commercial, and contractual risks.
• Manage contractual claims, disputes, and Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and project requirements.
• Prepare and present regular commercial, contractual, and financial reports to management.

Employment Details

• Contract Duration: 2 Years

• Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications

Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
