About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading global technology company specializing in electronic test and measurement solutions, serving customers across the semiconductor, communications, data center, and advanced technology industries.

The company is seeking an experienced High Speed Digital and Photonics Applications Engineer to support its growing business in AI infrastructure, high-speed interconnects, optical networking, and advanced memory technologies.

This is a strategic, customer-facing role combining deep technical expertise, application engineering, and business development. You will work closely with leading semiconductor companies, optical component manufacturers, network equipment providers, and hyperscale cloud operators to develop and deploy advanced test and measurement solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer & Technical Leadership

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to strategic customers throughout the solution lifecycle, from technology evaluation and architectural planning to deployment and production ramp.
• Engage with customer executives, architects, R&D leaders, validation engineers, and manufacturing teams to understand technical challenges and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Provide technical consulting to improve customer productivity, reduce development risks, and accelerate time-to-market.

2. Application & Solution Development

• Develop and deploy advanced validation and characterization solutions for:
• High-speed optical transceivers (400G, 800G, 1.6T and beyond)
• Silicon photonics and co-packaged optics (CPO)
• High-speed SerDes and AI accelerator interconnects
• PCIe Gen5/Gen6/Gen7, Ethernet, and InfiniBand
• DDR5, DDR6, HBM, and CXL memory interfaces
• Design and optimize measurement methodologies for signal integrity, power integrity, jitter analysis, eye diagrams, bit error rate (BER) validation, and compliance testing.
• Integrate test instrumentation, automation software, and data analytics into reusable application workflows.
• Develop technical demonstrations, solution guides, and customer enablement materials.

3. Business Development & Design Wins

• Partner with sales teams to identify and secure strategic technical opportunities.
• Support technical sales engagements, proof-of-concept evaluations, competitive benchmarking, and solution demonstrations.
• Contribute to business growth by expanding the company's presence within strategic accounts.
• Provide market insights on emerging technologies, customer requirements, and competitive activities.

4. Product & Market Influence

• Gather customer requirements and communicate market trends to product management and R&D teams.
• Provide feedback to influence product roadmaps, feature development, and next-generation solutions.
• Participate in beta programs and product validation activities.

5. Industry Leadership

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry standards in AI infrastructure, high-speed digital communications, and optical networking.
• Represent the company at technical conferences, industry forums, and customer events.
• Develop technical presentations, application notes, webinars, and other knowledge-sharing materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Photonics, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in applications engineering, design validation, product engineering, manufacturing test, or solution development involving high-speed digital and/or optical technologies.
• Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, channel characterization, and compliance methodologies.
• Deep knowledge of high-speed communication technologies, including PAM4, NRZ, equalization techniques, jitter analysis, BER measurements, and channel modeling.
• Hands-on experience with optical communication systems and transceiver technologies, including QSFP-DD, OSFP, OSFP-XD, and emerging pluggable architectures.
• Practical experience using high-performance test and measurement instrumentation, such as:
• Real-time and sampling oscilloscopes
• Digital Communication Analyzers (DCA)
• Bit Error Rate Testers (BERT)
• Vector Network Analyzers (VNA)
• Optical Spectrum Analyzers
• Lightwave Component Analyzers
• Protocol and logic analyzers
• Optical sources and power meters
• Strong understanding of relevant industry standards, including IEEE, OIF, PCI-SIG, JEDEC, Ethernet, and CXL.
• Willingness to travel regionally within South Asia Pacific.
