Role Overview
A Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking traditional Indonesian dishes, particularly penyet-style meals where ingredients are freshly fried and smashed with sambal. The role requires efficiency, consistency in taste, and adherence to food safety standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sets up stations according to outlets’ guidelines.
Prepare, cook food and present food effectively and efficiently, meeting the Company’s standard.
Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards as set by the Company.
Ensure compliance to regulatory of food safety, quality, health and hygiene standards at all times.
Proper labelling of all food items after preparation, maintaining stock level of all products and ensuring correct rotation by FIFO.
Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that the standards are met.
Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy always.
Maintain good personal hygiene as well as high work and safety standards in the workplace.
Report on time, in proper uniform and grooming standards.
Assists in other ad hoc duties as and when required.
Requirements:
Minimum GCE ‘N’ Level, Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders efficiently.
Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Able to stand for long hours and work in a hot kitchen environment.
