2–4 years selling hardware, plumbing, sanitary ware or building materials

Can name pipe materials (PVC, PPR, HDPE, copper) and common sizes without prompting

Has personally checked incoming deliveries against a delivery order and reported discrepancies

Fluent Bahasa Malaysia & Mandarin; conversational English & Cantonese

Confirms willingness to work a 6-day week before an interview is arranged

Has used a POS or billing system; basic Excel

Clean record on cash and stock handling; contactable previous employer for reference

SPM or equivalent minimum

Serve walk-in trade and retail customers at the counter — identify their requirement and recommend the correct product.

Prepare quotations and cash bills; process payment by cash, card, e-wallet and approved credit terms.

Upsell and cross-sell fittings, sealants, tools and consumables so the customer completes the job in one visit.

Handle phone and WhatsApp enquiries on price, stock availability and product suitability; follow up on quotations issued.

Check and confirm goods for customer self-collection; ensure nothing leaves the premises without a signed document and confirmed payment.

Receive incoming supplier deliveries: count and inspect against the delivery order and purchase order, document any shortage or damage, and raise the goods received note the same day.

Follow up supplier discrepancy claims through to credit note or replacement.

Maintain stock location records so any item can be found; direct the general worker on where stock is placed and verify it was done correctly.

Monitor stock levels and expiry dates on shelf-life items; report low, slow-moving or damaged stock.

Reconcile daily counter cash and card takings; participate in stock takes.
