Role Description The Assistant Sales Manager – Automation is a full-time, on-site role based in Selangor, Malaysia. This role is responsible for supporting the sales team in promoting and selling automation solutions, including preparing proposals, quotations, and presentations tailored to client needs. Day-to-day tasks include identifying new business opportunities, managing existing customer accounts, conducting product demonstrations, and coordinating site visits and technical discussions with internal engineering teams. The Assistant Sales Manager will monitor market trends and competitors, maintain accurate sales records and forecasts, and ensure timely follow-up on leads and enquiries. This role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support project execution, attending industry events or customer meetings as required, and contributing to continuous improvement of sales processes and customer experience.
Qualifications

• Experience in sales or business development, preferably in industrial automation, engineering, or related technical fields.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions in clear, accessible language.
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships, handle negotiations professionally, and provide customer-focused solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand client requirements and propose suitable automation solutions.
• Proficiency with office productivity tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software) and CRM or sales management systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and project teams, as well as independently manage priorities and deadlines.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and within the region as needed, and a valid driving license where applicable.
• Prior experience in the Malaysian industrial or manufacturing sector is an advantage.
