Role Description The Accounts Executive (General Ledger) is a full-time, on-site role based in Gelang Patah. This role is responsible for maintaining and updating the general ledger, preparing journal entries, and ensuring accurate posting of daily transactions. The Accounts Executive reviews and reconciles accounts, assists in month-end and year-end closing, and supports the preparation of financial statements and management reports. The role includes monitoring accounts payable and receivable entries in relation to the general ledger, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. The Accounts Executive collaborates with internal teams, supports audits, and contributes to process improvements in the finance function.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong general ledger accounting skills, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and month-end closing.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in financial reporting, analysis of variances, and supporting the preparation of management and statutory reports.
• Candidates should possess familiarity with accounting systems or ERP software, along with solid Microsoft Excel skills for tracking and reporting.
• Candidates should possess attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Candidates should possess good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
• Candidates should possess effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with finance and operational departments.
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
• Experience in general ledger or full-set accounts roles, ideally within trading, distribution, or FMCG environments, is beneficial.
• Understanding of basic tax, regulatory, and compliance requirements related to accounting in Malaysia is an added advantage.
