Role Overview

We are seeking a CAD/BIM & Engineering Document Control Specialist to maintain accurate, current and compliant engineering drawings, BIM models and controlled technical records within a regulated manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will support engineering projects and ongoing facility operations by ensuring strong CAD/BIM governance, accurate as-built documentation, effective document control and timely coordination of technical deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, revise and maintain as-built drawings and BIM models for facilities, utilities, equipment and infrastructure using approved CAD and BIM software.
  • Manage CAD/BIM databases, master drawings, model files, templates, libraries, naming conventions and revision records across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Establish and maintain CAD/BIM standards, model-development requirements, file structures and quality-control practices.
  • Conduct field verification and site inspections to ensure drawings and models accurately reflect installed conditions and approved modifications.
  • Review drawings, models and related deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness, consistency, constructability and compliance.
  • Manage the lifecycle of controlled engineering drawings and documents, including receipt, review, approval, issuance, distribution, retrieval, revision and archival.
  • Maintain complete, organised and traceable engineering records across concurrent projects and operational changes.
  • Support project closeout and handover by reviewing final as-built drawings, BIM models, metadata, transmittals and supporting documentation.
  • Support space-planning and drawing-based facility assessments where required.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees, consultants and contractors on CAD/BIM standards, submission requirements and document-control practices.
  • Coordinate drawing, BIM and document deliverables with internal stakeholders, design firms, construction-management partners, vendors and contractors.
  • Track submission schedules, review comments, revisions and closeout deliverables to support timely project execution.
  • Resolve drawing, model and document discrepancies through technical coordination, facilitation and appropriate escalation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve drawing quality, model usability, document retrieval, workflow efficiency and repository data integrity.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Facilities, Projects, Quality and Operations while managing competing priorities and compliance requirements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Services, BIM, Computer-Aided Design or a related technical discipline.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in CAD/BIM drafting, design coordination, as-built documentation or engineering document control.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of relevant BIM authoring or coordination software.
  • Ability to read, interpret and quality-check multidisciplinary engineering and architectural drawings, models and specifications.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently within a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with internal teams, consultants, contractors and vendors.

Preferred Experience

  • Certification or formal training in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks or other relevant BIM applications.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models and conducting model or drawing quality reviews.
  • Knowledge of engineering and architectural principles, applicable codes and standards, and as-built handover requirements.
  • Experience using controlled-document repositories, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Excel and related collaboration tools.
  • Familiarity with engineering-documentation practices in a regulated or GMP manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, planning, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative, service-oriented mindset with sound judgement and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
