TECHNICAL PROCESS ENGINEER- JIG & FIXTURE/PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
THE ROLE
We are looking for a hands-on Technical Process Engineer to support our precision stamping and sheet metal manufacturing operations.
You will be responsible for identifying machine and process problems and developing practical engineering solutions through jig & fixture design, modification, fabrication and process improvement.
This is NOT a purely office-based engineering role. You will work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Tooling teams directly on the production floor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot machine, process, downtime and quality issues and identify root causes.
- Design, modify and develop jigs, fixtures and tooling aids to improve machine performance and product quality.
- Prepare and modify CAD drawings and engineering designs.
- Coordinate or carry out jig/fixture fabrication, installation and production trials.
- Fine-tune jig/fixture alignment and performance to reduce defects and improve part consistency.
- Support stamping and tapping process improvement across different machine capacities.
- Drive improvements in cycle time, productivity, quality yield and production output.
- Participate in automation and manufacturing improvement projects.
- Explore practical applications of PLC, robotics, vision systems and other automation technologies.
- Work with Production and Quality teams on PFMEA, process improvement and corrective actions.
- Ensure engineering modifications consider applicable safety and DOSH requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Mechanical Design, Industrial Engineering or related field.
- 3–5 years' relevant experience in manufacturing, process engineering, tooling, jig & fixture design or machine/process improvement.
- Experience in metal stamping, tapping, sheet metal or precision manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience in jig & fixture design, modification and fabrication.
- Proficient in CAD and able to read engineering drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Knowledge of automation, PLC, robotics or machine vision is an advantage.
- Practical, proactive and comfortable working on the production floor.
