About FIBERLINK
Fiberlink is building an independent, market-neutral international telecommunications wholesale business focused on international Voice and A2P Messaging. We connect mobile network operators, carriers, aggregators and enterprise/CPaaS partners across regional and global markets, supported by proven technology partners, vendor-managed operations and Group shared services.
About the Role
We are seeking a Carrier Settlement & Finance Lead to own Fiberlink's wholesale Voice IDD and A2P SMS billing, traffic reconciliation, credit monitoring and carrier settlement activities.
You will work closely with the Commercial Lead on partner balances, billing validation, disputes, bilateral netting and collections, and with technical teams on traffic records and rating accuracy. This is a hands-on role focused on protecting cash and ensuring traffic is correctly rated, invoiced, collected and paid.
The role primarily supports Fiberlink's wholesale business, while providing shared financial oversight for FamClub and supporting Group Finance on accounting, tax and treasury matters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Setup and Launch Controls
- Build practical billing, reconciliation, collection, settlement and month-end procedures with clear responsibilities, controls and approval requirements.
- Work with technical teams to validate financial requirements within the platform, including rates, charging rules, currencies, traffic records and reporting.
- Complete billing and reconciliation testing before live traffic starts and verify partner financial onboarding and billing terms.
2. Carrier Billing and Revenue Assurance
- Perform traffic, rating and billing reconciliations of Voice CDRs and SMS records against carrier invoices, rates and agreements.
- Prepare and validate customer and supplier invoices, investigating billing discrepancies and rating exceptions.
- Reconcile usage, revenue and route costs between platform reports, partner statements and accounting records.
- Track and resolve revenue leakage, billing variances and reconciliation differences.
3. Credit Control and Collections
- Assess counterparty financial information and support recommendations on credit limits, deposits and payment terms.
- Monitor prepaid balances, credit exposure, invoices, collections and overdue accounts.
- Work closely with the Commercial Lead on collections, settlement commitments and financial risk.
- Coordinate approved traffic restrictions or suspensions when credit limits or payment terms are breached.
4. Settlement, Disputes and Payment Control
- Manage carrier statement reconciliations, settlement schedules and financial disputes.
- Calculate and verify bilateral netting arrangements where applicable.
- Prepare payment recommendations and support settlement execution through approved finance processes.
- Investigate traffic, pricing and billing discrepancies with Commercial and technical teams and coordinate dispute resolution with partners.
- Maintain appropriate controls over payment preparation, approvals and banking information updates.
5. Reporting, Cash Planning and Group Coordination
- Produce monthly revenue, route-cost, gross-profit, receivables, payables and cash reports.
- Monitor and forecast wholesale working-capital requirements and support cash planning activities.
- Maintain cash forecasts and monitor multi-currency settlement exposure.
- Coordinate month-end close activities, audit support, tax matters and statutory reporting with Group Finance.
- Support FamClub payment reconciliations and other approved payment-related activities where required.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- ACCA, CPA, CIMA or a comparable professional qualification is advantageous.
- Hands-on and comfortable building processes in a lean, early-stage business.
- Commercially aware, analytical and willing to challenge unsupported assumptions.
- Strong written and verbal English, with clear documentation and disciplined follow-through.
- High integrity and discretion when handling rates, financial records and partner information.
Essential Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in the Voice IDD and A2P SMS industry, with direct responsibility for wholesale telecom billing, carrier reconciliation, settlement or revenue assurance.
- Proven experience reconciling usage-based invoices, supplier costs and partner statements.
- Strong understanding of Voice IDD and A2P SMS charging, destination pricing, rate effective dates, billing increments, CDRs, DLRs and wholesale buy/sell arrangements.
- Experience managing carrier settlements, invoice disputes, credit/debit notes, collections, receivables, payables and multi-currency cash forecasting.
- Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with telecom billing or settlement platforms.
- Experience supporting month-end close, accruals, financial reporting and internal controls.
