Role Description

The Project Technician (BMS / Smart Building) is a full-time, on-site role.

This role is responsible for assisting in the installation, configuration, and testing of Building Management Systems (BMS) and related smart building equipment according to project specifications.

The technician supports engineering programming, wiring, device setup, and system integration activities, while documenting work and reporting progress to project engineers or supervisors. Day-to-day tasks include conducting functional tests, troubleshooting system issues, performing adjustments during Testing & Commissioning (T&C), and supporting handover procedures.

The role also involves providing basic technical support to clients, coordinating with site teams and vendors, and ensuring all work complies with safety standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Technical skills in building automation, control systems, or BMS, including familiarity with sensors, controllers, and field devices.
• Ability to support engineering programming, configuration, and basic system integration activities for smart building solutions.
• Competence in Testing & Commissioning (T&C), including functional verification, troubleshooting, and performance checks.
• Strong practical skills in electrical or electronic systems, wiring, panel work, and use of test instruments (e.g., multimeters).
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients on-site.
• Attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and adherence to safety, quality, and project standards.
• Diploma or certificate in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Instrumentation, or a related engineering field; equivalent experience considered.
• Willingness to work on-site, travel to project locations as needed, and adapt to project schedules and timelines.
• Previous experience in BMS, BAS, HVAC controls, or smart building projects is an advantage but not mandatory for junior roles.
