Job Title: Metrology Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Metrology Technician to perform precision measurement, calibration, and inspection of parts and equipment, ensuring conformance to engineering drawings and quality standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on with precision instruments, comfortable reading GD&T, and committed to data accuracy and traceability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform dimensional and geometric tolerance inspections using hand tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, plug gauges) and precision equipment (CMM, 3D scanners, optical comparators).
• Run established measurement programs and assist with CMM programming for complex parts.
• Conduct periodic calibration of gauges and measuring instruments; maintain calibration records and due-date tracking.
• Perform non-destructive testing such as XRF material identification and hardness testing as required.
• Record measurement results in databases/systems and prepare inspection reports for engineers and customers.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and technical specifications to determine proper measurement methods.
• Support Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and basic data analysis (e.g., Minitab).
• Maintain equipment condition, storage, and 5S standards; follow safety and quality system requirements (GMP / ISO 17025 where applicable).

Qualifications:

• Diploma/certificate in metrology, mechanical engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Hands-on experience with precision measurement instruments and CMM operation.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy; basic computer/database skills.
