OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Lecadia Primacare Centre – Kuala Lumpur

Lecadia Primacare Centre is a 115-bed long-term and step-down care facility in Kuala Lumpur providing nursing, rehabilitation and medical support for elderly and recovering patients.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities Assess residents’ functional abilities, ADLs and rehabilitation needs Develop individualised occupational therapy and functional recovery programmes Conduct ADL retraining including feeding, dressing, grooming, toileting and transfers Work with elderly residents and patients recovering from stroke, fractures, surgery and prolonged hospitalisation Support residents with dementia, cognitive impairment and reduced mobility Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to improve independence and safety Conduct cognitive, upper-limb, coordination and functional activities Develop meaningful activities and programmes to maintain residents’ physical, cognitive and social function Work closely with doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, caregivers and families on individual care plans Educate caregivers and family members on safe techniques and continuation of therapy Maintain proper assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and outcome measurements

Requirements Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy Fresh graduates are welcome to apply Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, neurology, dementia or long-term care is an advantage Good communication skills and comfortable working with elderly patients and families Able to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team Compassionate, practical and focused on improving residents’ quality of life and independence
