Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related field.

• Typically 5–8 years of relevant experience in network engineering or infrastructure management.

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies.

• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and network monitoring systems.

• Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, NAT, routing, switching, VPN, and network security.

• Experience with network troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

• Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure is an advantage.

• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, AWS, Azure, or equivalent would be an advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

1. Network Infrastructure Management

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, switches, routers, firewalls, and related network devices.

• Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and reliability.

• Ensure network infrastructure is properly configured, documented, and maintained.

• Manage network upgrades, expansions, migrations, and technology refresh projects.

• Identify opportunities to improve network performance, scalability, and resilience.

2. Network Security

• Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls, network segmentation, and security policies.

• Work closely with cybersecurity teams to identify and mitigate network security risks.

• Monitor network traffic and investigate suspicious or abnormal network activities.

• Ensure network configurations comply with organisational security standards and policies.

• Support vulnerability assessments, security audits, and remediation activities.

3. Troubleshooting & Technical Support

• Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support for complex network-related incidents.

• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, routing, switching, wireless, VPN, firewall, and performance issues.

• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring or critical network incidents.

• Coordinate with Internet Service Providers, telecommunications providers, and technology vendors when required.

• Provide technical guidance to junior network engineers and IT support teams.

4. Network Architecture & Design

• Develop and maintain network architecture, topology diagrams, IP addressing schemes, and technical documentation.

• Evaluate new networking technologies and recommend appropriate solutions.

• Design network solutions that support business growth, operational requirements, and high availability.

• Implement redundancy, load balancing, failover, and disaster recovery solutions where required.

5. Network Monitoring & Performance

• Monitor network devices and services using network management and monitoring tools.

• Analyse bandwidth utilisation, latency, packet loss, availability, and other network performance indicators.

• Establish appropriate performance baselines and proactively identify potential issues.

• Prepare network performance and incident reports for management.

6. Projects & Infrastructure Improvements

• Lead or participate in network infrastructure projects, including office expansions, data centre upgrades, cloud connectivity, network migrations, and system implementations.

• Develop technical requirements, implementation plans, test plans, and rollback procedures.

• Coordinate network-related activities with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and service providers.

• Ensure projects are delivered according to agreed timelines, technical requirements, and budgets.
