Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Mandarin Interpreter (OPI/VRI). The interpreter will provide real-time Mandarin-English interpretation over the phone (OPI) and via video (VRI) for medical, legal, business, and general customer service contexts. Day-to-day responsibilities include accurately conveying meaning, tone, and intent between parties, following client and industry protocols, and maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism. The role involves managing scheduled and on-demand calls, documenting sessions as required, and using LanguageBees’ technology platforms and reference materials effectively. The interpreter will also participate in ongoing training, quality assurance activities, and skill development to ensure consistent, high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong language skills, including native in Mandarin and professional-level fluency in English, with excellent listening and speaking abilities.
• Candidates should possess customer service and communication skills, including clear, neutral communication style, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to manage challenging or emotional interactions calmly.
• Reliable access to a quiet workspace, high-speed internet, and appropriate audio/video equipment.
• Candidates should possess professional and organizational skills, such as adherence to confidentiality and ethics, punctuality, time management, and the ability to follow client-specific procedures and documentation requirements.
