Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Electron Beam Welding (EBW) machines for precision welding of metal components and assemblies.
• Prepare workpieces for welding, including cleaning, alignment, positioning, and fixture setup.
• Interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, work instructions, and technical specifications.
• Configure welding parameters such as beam current, accelerating voltage, travel speed, beam focus, and alignment according to approved procedures.
• Operate and monitor vacuum systems to maintain optimal welding conditions.
• Perform welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and other engineering materials according to production requirements.
• Conduct visual inspections of welded parts to identify defects such as cracks, porosity, incomplete fusion, undercut, and distortion.
• Support troubleshooting activities related to welding defects, equipment issues, and process abnormalities.
• Maintain welding fixtures, tooling, and work holding devices to ensure operational readiness.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety practices, including high-voltage equipment, vacuum systems, radiation shielding, and machine safety interlocks.

Requirements

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Technology, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in precision welding, EBW operations, aerospace, semiconductor equipment manufacturing, or related industries.
• Knowledge of EBW processes, vacuum technology, and welding parameter setup is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and basic GD&T requirements.
• Familiarity with welding inspection techniques and quality control procedures.
• Able to operate precision manufacturing equipment and follow work instructions.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willing to work at East Region, Changi North Crescent.
