Job Description:
- Perform routine animal laboratory and research duties, including husbandry, animal welfare and health monitoring, cage changing, and sanitation of cages.
- Maintain facility hygiene and handle general housekeeping duties including cleaning and sanitation of equipment and facility areas. Manage waste decontamination and clinical waste disposal.
- Provide user training and support research projects.
- Assist with operational tasks, such as routine equipment maintenance, upkeep of records, and perform other logistical or ad-hoc duties as assigned.
- Operate facility equipment (including bedding disposal stations, rack washers, and autoclaves, etc.).
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to animal welfare.
- Prior experience in animal husbandry and handling (particularly mice) or a relevant laboratory background is preferred.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and team spirit to collaborate effectively with researchers and other team members.
- Highly responsible, disciplined, and detail-oriented with strong observation skills. Follow guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Working Conditions & Terms
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working within the facility.
- In-service training will be provided. The appointee is required to work on weekends and public holidays on a rotational shift basis.
- Appointment will initially be made on a 1-year contract basis, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
Work locations are in Hong Kong Science and Technology Park / From time to time, the candidate may be assigned to work outside Hong Kong for a short term.
