A leading global financial services organisation is looking for a Senior Security Automation Engineer to join its technology security function.
This is a senior, hands-on role focused on security engineering, automation and emerging technology. The role is suited to a senior security professional who enjoys building solutions, solving complex problems and turning emerging technologies into practical security capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of security automation and orchestration solutions across the enterprise security environment.
- Build and integrate security tooling using Python, APIs and automation frameworks.
- Develop automated workflows across security assessment, control validation, evidence collection, monitoring and reporting.
- Drive the integration of security controls into DevSecOps, CI/CD and cloud environments.
- Evaluate and apply AI, LLMs and emerging technologies to improve security processes and capabilities.
- Lead technical proofs-of-concept, experiments and technology evaluations.
- Translate research and experimentation into practical security solutions, prototypes, standards and recommendations.
- Provide technical leadership across areas including cloud, infrastructure, application security, IAM and data security.
- Partner with architecture, engineering, risk and technology stakeholders across multiple markets.
- Identify emerging threats, technology trends and security gaps, and recommend appropriate security approaches.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other members of the security team.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering or a related technology discipline.
- Strong hands-on background in security engineering, automation, security architecture or DevSecOps.
- Strong programming and scripting capabilities, particularly Python.
- Proven experience with API integrations, security tooling and automated workflows.
- Experience with SOAR, SIEM, security orchestration or security automation platforms.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps and cloud security.
- Broad cybersecurity knowledge across cloud, infrastructure, application, identity and data security.
- Proven ability to research emerging technologies and translate them into working POCs or practical security solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business teams.
- Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-moving and ambiguous environment.
