We are looking for an energetic, customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will be the face of our footwear store—helping customers find the perfect pair of shoes, sharing product knowledge, and providing an exceptional shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Assistance: Greet shoppers warmly, listen to their needs, measure feet accurately, and recommend suitable shoes (style, fit, and performance).

• Drive Sales: Assist customers in selecting footwear, upsell related shoe care products (cleaners, insoles, socks), and process purchases at the checkout counter.

• Store Visuals & Merchandising: Keep product displays clean, fully stocked, and visually appealing according to brand guidelines.

• Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, tag, and organize stock in the backroom; participate in periodic inventory counts.

• Stock Retrieval: Fetch requested sizes and styles quickly from the stockroom while keeping the sales floor attended.

• Store Operations: Help open or close the store, maintain cleanliness on the shop floor, and keep fitting areas tidy.

1. Customer Service & Fitting

• Greet all incoming customers promptly with a friendly and welcoming attitude.

• Listen to customer preferences regarding style, size, comfort, and intended use (e.g., running, formal, everyday wear).

• Retrieve requested styles, colors, and sizes efficiently from the stockroom.

• Assist customers in trying on shoes, offering feedback on fit, comfort, and support.

2. Sales & Revenue Generation

• Active engagement with customers to meet daily and monthly store sales targets.

• Suggest complementary items during fitting or checkout, such as shoe care products, insoles, waterproofing sprays, and socks.

• Highlight current promotional offers, discounts, and brand highlights to drive conversions.

• Handle customer objections or complaints professionally to ensure a positive shopping experience.

3. POS & Cashiering Operations

• Ring up purchases accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) cash register system.

• Process cash, credit/debit card transactions, e-wallets, and gift card redemptions.

• Issue receipts, process valid returns or exchanges according to store policy, and wrap merchandise neatly.

4. Visual Merchandising & Store Maintenance

• Maintain clean, organized, and attractive display shelves and footwear towers.

• Restock display models on the sales floor when sizes or colors sell out.

• Keep the floor, fitting seats, mirrors, and cash wrap area clean and clutter-free.

• Ensure all shoes on display have clear price tags and correct promotional signs attached.

5. Inventory Control & Stockroom Management

• Receive incoming shipments, unbox merchandise, and verify physical counts against invoices.

• Attach security tags, price stickers, and barcode labels to new inventory.

• Organize the stockroom logically by brand, style, and size for quick floor retrieval.

• Participate in regular stock takes and physical inventory audits to minimize loss/shrinkage.
