岗位职责
TBS Avionics Co Limited
We design and manufacture the electronics that make robots move, listen and see: brushless motor controllers, remote control systems and video transmission technology. Everything is designed by our own engineers and built in-house in Hong Kong.
We need a mechanical engineer with a designer's eye. You'll design the housings, handhelds and heatsinks that turn a bare board into a product. They have to hold tolerance, shed heat and survive rough use, and they should look like someone cared. If you can make a beautiful render but can't run a tolerance stack, this isn't the role.
We're hiring at any level. Juniors work alongside senior engineers and get real parts to own early. Seniors lead whole products. We don't have managers. We have people who are good at what they do.
What You'll Do
Design enclosures, handheld controllers, heatsinks and mounting hardware in SolidWorks
Own parts from sketch to production: concept, detailed design, prototyping, DFM, tooling, production support
Do the engineering: tolerance stacks, thermal paths, structural checks, fastener and material selection
Design for injection moulding, overmoulding, die casting, CNC machining and sheet metal
Work with our electronics engineers on board fit, connectors, cooling and antenna placement
Obsess over form and finish: ergonomics, surfaces, edges, colour, material feel
Work directly with tooling vendors, machine shops and material suppliers
Prototype relentlessly with 3D printing, desktop CNC and bench builds
What We're Looking For
Required:
A degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field
Strong SolidWorks skills: parts, assemblies and production drawings
Solid mechanical fundamentals: statics, materials, tolerancing and GD&T
Hands-on instincts. If you can't build and test it yourself, you'll be frustrated here
A portfolio showing engineering work, not only renders
Working English, Cantonese or Putonghua
For senior candidates:
5+ years of mechanical design, with products taken through tooling into volume production
Deep injection moulding knowledge: draft, wall thickness, gates, sink, warp
Experience with thermal design for power electronics, or with handheld devices
You've dealt directly with tooling shops and machine shops, not through a sourcing team
Bonus points:
Robotics or electromechanical systems background
Design for harsh environments: IP ratings, shock, vibration
FEA for structural and thermal validation
Industrial design training or strong surfacing skills
Rendering skills
Why Join Us
Hard problems, real constraints. Products that have to work in the field, not pass a spec sheet once.
End-to-end ownership. Your designs become hardware you can hold.
No hierarchy. Flat structure, high trust, zero politics.
Room to experiment. New materials, processes and product directions.
