To be successful in this internship role, you should demonstrate:

1. Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction/property discipline

2. Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail

3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

4. Basic understanding of construction principles, building materials and project management concepts

5. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to:

1. Assist in the preparation and analysis of cost estimates and budgets for construction projects

2. Support the measurement and quantification of construction materials and labour requirements

3. Help with the compilation and organisation of tender documents and project specifications

4. Conduct site visits and observations to gather information relevant to project costing

5. Assist in the preparation of reports related to project costs, variations and claims

6. Support the procurement process by liaising with suppliers and contractors

7. Learn and apply industry-standard software for cost estimation and project management

8. Contribute to the development of cost plans and value engineering studies

9. Undertake administrative tasks to support the quantity surveying team's operations
