AI tooling is expected to be part of your working method. Used well it improves coverage and speed. Used carelessly it produces plausible-looking test cases that test nothing.

1. Test design acceleration - Uses AI to generate candidate test scenarios, boundary conditions and negative

cases from a requirement document, then reviews, corrects and extends them with domain judgement.

2. Documentation efficiency - Uses AI to draft test plans, defect summaries, release notes and process

documentation, then verifies every technical detail against the system

Essential

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a

related field.

• 1–3 years in software testing.

• Understanding of software testing fundamentals: test case design, defect lifecycle, severity and priority,

regression and the software development lifecycle.

• Able to write clear, reproducible defect reports .

• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail; able to spot what is inconsistent rather than only what

is broken.

• Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.

• Practical familiarity with AI assistants and sound judgement about verifying their output.

Preferred

• Experience testing in payments, banking, fintech or another regulated domain.

• Exposure to test automation frameworks.

• Familiarity with defect and test management tools such as Zoho.

Test design and planning

1. Review requirement specifications, user stories and design documents, and raise ambiguities, gaps and

untestable requirements before development begins.

2. Design test scenarios and test cases covering functional, negative, boundary and end-to-end conditions,

with clear expected results.

3. Prepare and maintain test data, including edge cases and realistic volumes, without using live production

data.

4. Contribute to test plans, defining scope, approach, entry and exit criteria, and the risks being accepted.

5. Maintain traceability between requirements and test cases so coverage can be demonstrated to the

client.

Test execution

6. Execute functional, integration, regression and end-to-end tests across web, mobile applications.

7. Perform exploratory testing beyond the scripted cases

8. Conduct regression testing to confirm that fixes and enhancements have not broken existing behaviour.

9. Support System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing, including preparing environments,

guiding client testers and tracking issues raised during UAT.

10.Verify defect fixes and confirm closure, rather than accepting a developer's word that an issue is

resolved.

Defect management and reporting

11.Log defects with clear reproduction steps, environment detail, expected versus actual behaviour,

evidence and an accurate severity rating.

12.Track defects through to closure and escalate blockers and ageing critical items to the QA Lead.

13.Assist in root cause analysis, distinguishing between a code defect, a requirement gap, a data issue and a

configuration problem.

14.Report test progress, coverage and quality status to the QA Lead and Project Manager, including an

honest view of readiness for release.

15.Complete QA documentation and sign-off forms accurately, including SIT and UAT sign-offs and fix

verification records.

Quality improvement

16.Participate in requirement reviews, design reviews and retrospectives, contributing a testing perspective

early rather than late.

17.Maintain and improve the regression suite so it stays relevant as the product changes.

18.Contribute to test automation where it delivers value, and support the QA Lead in expanding automation

coverage.

19.Track and help reduce defect leakage into production, and support post-incident reviews when a defect

does escape.

20.Contribute to user-facing documentation and process flow guides where QA knowledge improves them.
