The Engineering Intern will support the Projects and Service teams in the execution of Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) and industrial instrumentation projects. This internship provides hands-on exposure to real engineering work — from design documentation and panel testing to site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting — under the guidance of experienced Project Engineers.

The internship is designed to develop practical engineering competence, professional work habits, and an understanding of how projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

We do not expect interns to know everything. We expect interns to say: “I don't know this yet, but I will learn it.” Interns who show ownership, initiative, and consistency will be given more responsibility and real engineering work.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Chemical, or related engineering discipline.
• Basic understanding of electrical/electronic circuits and instrumentation concepts.
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required (with supervision).
• Hardworking, curious, and eager to learn — asks questions and takes notes.
• Able to follow instructions and safety procedures strictly.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.
• Minimum internship duration of 3 months (6 months preferred).

1. Key Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers in preparing engineering documents such as wiring diagrams, instrument hook-up drawings, and testing procedures.
• Support panel wiring checks, loop testing, and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) activities.
• Accompany engineers on site visits for installation, testing, and commissioning of CEMS and instrumentation systems (where permitted).
• Assist in analyzer calibration and sampling system checks under supervision.
• Support data connectivity and communication testing (e.g., Modbus, PLC/SCADA interfaces).
• Help maintain project documentation, test records, and equipment lists.
• Assist in preparing DOE-related documentation under guidance.
• Participate in toolbox talks and comply with all company and client HSE requirements.
• Carry out other engineering support tasks assigned by the supervisor.

2. Learning Outcomes

• Understand how CEMS and industrial instrumentation projects are executed from purchase order to handover.
• Gain hands-on skills in reading engineering drawings, wiring, testing, and calibration.
• Learn industrial communication basics: 4-20 mA signals, Modbus RTU/TCP, PLC and SCADA integration.
• Experience real project site environments and professional HSE practices.
• Develop problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills expected of a practicing engineer.
