Compliance & Governance Officer

Location: Malaysia

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Management / Project Lead

Role Overview

We are looking for a Compliance & Governance Officer to support a fintech / digital payment platform.

The main focus of this role is to manage compliance, AML/KYC, governance controls and coordination with external partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Company's compliance framework, policies and procedures.
• Act as the main contact for compliance matters with service providers.
• Oversee AML/CFT, KYC/KYB and customer due-diligence processes.
• Review higher-risk customers, unusual transactions and compliance alerts.
• Oversee transaction monitoring and escalation of suspicious activities.
• Support sanctions, PEP and adverse-media screening.
• Maintain proper compliance records and reporting.
• Review approval controls, access rights and segregation of duties.
• Support compliance-related systems.
• Provide compliance guidance to Operations, Finance and Customer Support where required.
• Support compliance readiness before product launch.
• Escalate significant compliance risks or issues to Management.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Law, Finance, Business, Compliance or related discipline.
• Around 3–5 years of Compliance / AML experience.
• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, e-wallets, cards or digital assets preferred.
• Good knowledge of AML/CFT, KYC/KYB and transaction monitoring.
• Experience dealing with payment providers, financial institutions or compliance vendors is an advantage.
• Able to work independently and communicate effectively with external partners.
