Job Summary
We are seeking a highly strategic and technically proficient Technical Services Manager to lead our technical engineering and service delivery department. In this role, you will oversee a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring that all specialized engineering assets, systems, and infrastructures operate at peak efficiency. You will design preventive maintenance programs, manage high-value vendor contracts, lead root-cause failure analyses, and ensure flawless technical execution that aligns with corporate safety and strict regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader who can seamlessly translate complex engineering metrics into actionable business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Department Leadership: Direct and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, assistant managers, and senior technicians, setting clear operational KPIs and driving performance excellence.
- Asset & Maintenance Strategy: Develop, optimize, and enforce comprehensive preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for critical systems and heavy equipment.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Lead negotiations, manage SLAs, and evaluate performance for external contractors, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and technical service providers.
- Incident Management & Root Cause: Spearhead investigations into major technical failures or systemic equipment issues, establishing technical solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Budgetary Control: Plan and manage the engineering department’s annual capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenditure (OPEX) budgets.
- Compliance & Auditing: Guarantee absolute compliance with localized Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) guidelines, international engineering codes, and industry-specific regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 8–12 years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 4+ years in a dedicated managerial or department head capacity.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Engineering Change Management, asset lifecycles, and advanced Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) or CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
- Leadership & Strategy: Proven success managing large team structures, handling high-stakes operational crises, and delivering technical reports to C-suite executives.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience managing technical services in high-stakes environments like airport ground handling, automated logistics hubs, or commercial MRO environments (highly relevant for companies like SATS or ST Engineering).
- Advanced project management (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma certifications.
Pay: $5,500.00 - $7,500.00 per month
