岗位职责

Help shape the employee experience and support the growth of BBVA in Asia.

BBVA is growing in Asia, and Singapore is becoming an increasingly important hub for our regional business. As our organization grows, we are strengthening our local Talent & Culture capabilities to provide effective, people-centered HR support while maintaining high standards of governance and regulatory compliance.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive and collaborative HR Generalist to join our T&C Asia team in Singapore. This is an opportunity to take ownership of local HR activities, work closely with business leaders and employees, and collaborate with colleagues across Asia to support our people and business priorities.

Your impact

As part of our Talent & Culture Asia team, you will:

Business & Employee Advisory

  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance to managers and employees in Singapore, addressing people-related questions and supporting effective employee management.
  • Build trusted relationships across the organization, combining a service-oriented approach with sound judgment, discretion and awareness of local requirements.

Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning & Onboarding

  • Coordinate recruitment activities with business managers and the regional Talent & Culture team, ensuring hiring plans align with business needs and approved headcount.
  • Support recruitment coordination, pre-employment checks and onboarding, ensuring a smooth candidate and new-joiner experience and compliance with applicable requirements.

Employee Relations & Local HR Compliance

  • Support employee relations matters and help ensure HR policies, employment documentation and local practices comply with Singapore employment legislation, Ministry of Manpower (MOM) requirements, relevant Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) requirements and BBVA policies.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, employment contracts and HR compliance documentation, supporting timely follow-up on regulatory and internal requirements.

Payroll, Benefits & HR Operations

  • Coordinate local payroll processing, benefits administration and other employee-related transactions, working closely with the regional HR Operations team and following established review and approval processes.
  • Ensure employee data, payroll inputs and relevant documentation are accurate, complete and submitted on time.

Talent, Performance & Development

  • Coordinate local implementation of performance management, goal setting, talent reviews, employee surveys and succession planning in partnership with T&C Asia.
  • Support employee training and development, identifying relevant local learning opportunities aligned with business needs and BBVA’s values.

Employee Experience, Culture & Engagement

  • Contribute to employee engagement and cultural initiatives, including Values Day, employee surveys and other activities that strengthen connection, inclusion and the employee experience.
  • Support organizational changes and people initiatives arising from business growth, working closely with local managers and the regional T&C team.

People Data, Reporting & Risk Management

  • Maintain accurate Workday records and HR data, prepare headcount, turnover and other people reports, and provide insights to support business and workforce decisions.
  • Prepare HR documentation for internal and external audits, support risk and control assessments, and work with T&C Asia Risk & Control Assurance (RCA) and relevant teams to address findings and strengthen processes.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally combining HR Generalist responsibilities with experience in business roles. We welcome candidates with different career paths who bring a strong understanding of both people management and business needs.
  • A degree in Human Resources, Economics, Business Administration, Psychology, Marketing or another relevant field. Equivalent combinations of education and practical experience will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of Singapore employment legislation, MOM requirements and relevant HR practices in the financial services sector.
  • Practical experience across HR operations, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, payroll coordination and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Familiarity with Workday or similar HR systems, people data and reporting.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, managers and regional stakeholders.
  • Integrity, discretion, attention to detail and a strong understanding of confidentiality and risk management.
  • A proactive, service-oriented and collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Interest in technology and AI-enabled opportunities to improve HR processes, with a responsible approach to using new tools.

Nice to have: Experience in a foreign bank or multinational organization, familiarity with local banking regulatory expectations, experience supporting HR audits or process improvements, and proficiency in Spanish.

Why join us?

This role offers the opportunity to play a meaningful part in BBVA’s growth in Singapore while being connected to a broader regional T&C team.

You will combine local responsibility with international collaboration, work across a wide range of people topics and contribute to strengthening the employee experience, HR governance and business support in Asia.

If you enjoy working close to the business, solving people's challenges and making HR processes work better for everyone, we’d love to hear from you.
