Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Technician role based in Pasir Gudang. The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment, machinery, and systems within the plant. Daily tasks include inspecting equipment, identifying mechanical issues, troubleshooting faults, carrying out repairs, and supporting preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. The role also involves monitoring equipment performance, documenting maintenance activities, and working closely with operations and engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. The Mechanical Technician is expected to adhere to all safety procedures, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency maintenance as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform Equipment Maintenance and general Maintenance tasks on industrial mechanical systems.
• Experience in Preventive Maintenance planning and execution to reduce equipment failures.
• Strong Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing mechanical problems and implementing effective solutions.
• Hands-on Maintenance & Repair skills for pumps, valves, rotating equipment, piping, and related machinery.
• Relevant technical certificate, diploma, or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of industrial safety standards, PPE usage, and safe work practices in chemical or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented, shift-based environment.
• Prior experience in a chemical plant, refinery, or heavy industrial facility is an advantage.
