EHS Engineer

Location: Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah

Job Summary

Menicon is seeking an EHS Engineer to support environmental, health and safety programs at its manufacturing site. The role will help maintain regulatory compliance, promote safe work practices and coordinate EHS activities across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the site’s environmental, health and safety management systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian EHS requirements, including DOSH, DOE and other relevant authorities.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and HIRARC reviews; follow up on corrective actions.
• Support permit-to-work processes and monitor contractor safety.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
• Coordinate EHS training, toolbox briefings, emergency preparedness and evacuation exercises.
• Monitor scheduled waste, environmental controls and relevant operational records.
• Maintain EHS documentation, reports, permits and audit records.
• Support internal and external audits, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
• Work with production, engineering and other teams to resolve safety and environmental issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Around 3 years or more of EHS experience in manufacturing is preferred.
• Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO/Green Book) qualification is required, based on the previous Menicon vacancy brief.
• Knowledge of Malaysian EHS legislation and experience with risk assessments, inspections and incident investigations.
• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 exposure is an advantage.
• Certifications related to scheduled waste or wastewater management are an advantage.
• Good communication, coordination and documentation skills.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
