SUMMARY

We are seeking a Customer Design Manager to lead the design and delivery of data centre projects, ensuring reliability, efficiency, sustainability, compliance, and speed to market while meeting customer requirements and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple data centre projects (greenfield and fit-out) across regional locations, ensuring delivery within budget and schedule.
• Develop and maintain design standards, briefs, and key performance metrics to drive consistency and quality.
• Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary consultants, including architects, engineers, planners, and specialist consultants.
• Ensure designs meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, sustainability targets, and operational objectives.
• Partner with customers, consultants, and suppliers to drive continuous improvements in safety, efficiency, and innovation.
• Conduct site visits to validate construction quality, equipment performance, and compliance with design intent and reliability standards.

Key Deliverables

• Achieve design compliance and successful customer handovers.
• Drive design standardization and manage customer-driven design variations.
• Support customer technical reviews, RFPs, and compliance assessments.
• Facilitate timely design decisions and secure customer approvals.
• Identify and implement design improvements based on lessons learned.
• Deliver innovative solutions to improve project execution and speed to market.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect certification preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in design consultancy, data centre design, or related infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing complex design projects and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of Design-Bid-Build, Design & Build, and other project delivery methodologies.
• Experience with hyperscale data centres is preferred.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin to support communication with regional customers, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel across the region as required.
