About The Role
This is an on-site, full-time role for a Data Center Commissioning Engineer. The Data Center Commissioning Engineer is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end commissioning process of hyperscale data centers. You will conduct thorough inspections, perform rigorous testing and commissioning (T&C) of critical data center infrastructure, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide ongoing technical support. The engineer will manage the entire five-level T&C lifecycle (CX1 through CX5), ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems are accurately documented, strictly compliant, and operating at peak efficiency.
About The Job
- Planning & Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and execute M&E commissioning activities, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project requirements.
- Documentation & Review: Review engineering drawings, specifications, method statements, and equipment schedules. Prepare and review commissioning plans, procedures, checklists, test scripts, and final handover documentation.
- System Readiness: Ensure all M&E systems are fully prepared for commissioning, verifying that installation is complete and all pre-commissioning requirements are met.
- Commissioning Execution (CX1 - CX5): Coordinate and execute the full five levels of data center commissioning:
- CX1 (Factory Acceptance Testing): Review and validate equipment performance at the vendor facility prior to shipment.
- CX2 (Site Acceptance & Inspection): Verify the correct delivery, installation, and physical condition of components upon site arrival.
- CX3 (Pre-Functional Testing & Startup): Ensure individual components are energized, configured correctly, and ready for system operations.
- CX4 (Functional Performance Testing): Execute functional testing of complete systems under various loads and simulated failure scenarios.
- CX5 (Integrated Systems Testing): Participate in full-facility testing to validate that all electrical and mechanical systems operate seamlessly together under simulated failover conditions.
- Deficiency Management: Identify, track, and coordinate the prompt closure of commissioning deficiencies, punch lists, and outstanding issues.
- Quality & Compliance: Monitor commissioning progress, review test results, and maintain meticulous records. Ensure all activities comply with approved procedures, project specifications, safety requirements (e.g., LOTO), and applicable industry standards.
