AWS SysOps Administrator

Location: KL Eco City, Kuala Lumpur

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AWS SysOps Administrator to join the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) team. The role will be responsible for managing, monitoring and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring system availability, security, performance and cost efficiency.

You will work closely with infrastructure, network and application teams to support cloud operations, automation, migration and continuous improvement of AWS environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor AWS resources, system health, utilisation and performance using services such as Amazon CloudWatch.
• Manage AWS infrastructure, provisioning, lifecycle, security and operational activities.
• Create and manage VPCs, gateways, proxies, bastion hosts and other AWS networking components.
• Monitor and optimise AWS usage, billing and cloud costs.
• Implement resource tagging for cost allocation, governance and reporting.
• Manage and monitor Amazon EKS clusters.
• Maintain AWS backups and support disaster recovery activities.
• Perform system upgrades, kernel patching and security/errata updates.
• Configure and fine-tune cloud infrastructure to improve availability and performance.
• Develop and maintain automation using AWS CloudFormation and scripting.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines to automate day-to-day AWS operations.
• Maintain data integrity, access controls and cloud security standards.
• Work with network teams to establish and maintain connectivity between on-premises environments and AWS.
• Support on-premises infrastructure and application migration to AWS using appropriate migration approaches.
• Troubleshoot AWS infrastructure and network-related issues and provide root cause analysis (RCA).
• Support multi-tier cloud infrastructure environments and ensure operational stability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of IT experience.
• Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services.
• Experience managing and monitoring Amazon EKS.
• Strong understanding of AWS infrastructure, networking and security.
• Experience with cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code, preferably AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and scripting/automation.
• Experience with cloud migration, particularly migrating on-premises infrastructure/applications to AWS.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
