Roots Artisan Peshtemals was founded by an entrepreneur couple of Turkish origins, who has been living in Malaysia for more than 5 years, with the dream of introducing unique and artisanal Turkish textiles to Malaysia and South East Asia.

 

Roots Artisan dreams to introduce Malaysians high-quality natural products, still handloomed by craftsmen in Turkey who reinterpret the beautiful ancient designs with a modern soul and a strong passion and commitment.

While offering a versatile, stylish and natural Turkish towels, we are also proud to bring the old values of our home, Anatolia, into the present, appreciate our master artisans’ commitment and support the craftsmenship in our home town. We do believe in the distinctive touch of the human hand and believe that hand made designs have the power to enrich our lives with beauty and meaning.

Roots Artisan’s target is to present this natural and artisanal product to anyone who appreciates nature, culture, practical usage and quality.

Those who live in Turkey, Greece, France and mainly in Mediterranean countries may have already discovered this stylish towels on their glamorous beaches. Now, we believe, it is time to introduce Malaysia with our artisanal peshtemals.

 

Peshtemal is an oversize towel made of natural fibers like cotton and linen, characterized by its fringed edges and stripes and prized for its high absorption, quick drying time, thin profile and tendency to become softer with every wash.

Simple luxuries, many peshtemals are still made by true artisans from cotton, linen and sometimes silk and bamboo in Turkey, whose prime climate is well-known for producing some of the world’s finest textile fibers.
