Raya Coffee 简介

Raya Coffee was founded in Shah Alam on December 2024. It first started as a home coffee bar set up mostly serving the neighborhood and friends. As the name suggests, Raya signifies celebration, hence the tagline “Celebrate Your Day”.  It was founded by Andrew Kunaselan, a broadcast engineer by profession who served in Astro for 22 years. His frequent travels to Indonesia that created the curiosity about the passion for coffee. He then started to explore the various coffee business and brands that was mushrooming in Indonesia. Mainly brands like Tuku Coffee, Janji Jiwa and Kopi Kenangan to name a few. This prompted him to get the proper knowledge and training, hence acquiring barista skills and creating a comprehensive coffee and non-coffee recipes at the Curators Coffee Lab , Jakarta. 

The first Raya Coffee outlet officially opened in August 2024 at Sri Penaga, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. 

Raya’s origin of coffee beans come from South America and South East Asia, a blend of arabica and robusta that offers a medium-roast, smooth with earthy undertones. The tasting notes provide a nutty, subtle chocolate with a hint of berry like sweetness. 

Raya’s signature coffee is the Kopi Susu Gula Aren which uses authentic palm sugar imported from Indonesia. Besides the classic coffee menu, Raya also offers non-coffee beverage mainly smoothies, milkshakes, tea and other refreshing drinks. We have also obtained certification to carry the popular Matcha brand by Niko Neko. The food items we serve are local snacks, pastries and cakes to complement our customers favourite drink. 

In 2025, we plan to open more stores in the Klang Valley as we compete with other established coffee outlets. We believe that Raya Coffee with its branding and unique products will be able to gain a significant market share of the coffee industry in Malaysia.
