PULAU INDAH POWER PLANT SDN BHD

 

Pulau Indah Power Plant (PIPP) is a 1,200MW power plant in Pulau Indah, Selangor, Malaysia. It is a natural gas-powered Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) with an efficiency of more than 60%, much higher than its coal or oil equivalent.

 

PIPP will use General Electric latest 9HA.01 CCGT turbine technology, world’s most innovative advanced materials, cooling, aerodynamics, combustion, and digital capability that will lessen the impact to the environment

 

Costing an estimated RM3.35 billion to build, PIPP will go through 5 phases of construction namely design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and testing before commencing its commercial operation on January 1st, 2024.

 

Once completed, it will be connected to the National Grid to support the increasing power demand in the Klang Valley, which accounts for 43% of total electricity demand in Peninsular Malaysia.

 

Pulau Indah, Klang is approximately 60 km southwest of Kuala Lumpur. The location was chosen due to its proximity to the Central Region which is the largest load centre.
