The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRC) Penang Branch was established in 1950. MRC is dedicated to humanitarian activities and services. The Malaysian Red Crescent traces its roots to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1863.

The Red Crescent Movement is geared to "Saving Lives" Changing Minds" in the quest to alleviate the suffering of victims of accidents, natural and man-made disasters.
We also carry out health and community work throughout the year, such as blood donation campaigns to help hospitals replenish their Blood Banks.MRC Penang has established three 12-hour Ambulance Service Centres in the State of Penang with dedicated and trained full-time staffs who respond to emergency calls from Police and Government Hospitals. MRC Penang also believes in doing well by doing good, its believes in service the needs of local community.

We organised projects like Flag Day, Heritage Walk, Charity Food Fair and Annual Dinner yearly to raise fund for our humanitarian work.
