KindiZoo 简介

KindiZoo Pre-School’s priority is to make learning fun!

Our focus is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where we foster the uniqueness of each child through play and enquiry based learning activities ….Maria Montessori and Emilio Reggio would be proud!uF04A

OUR CURRICULUM

We provide developmental rigor through the Malaysian National Standard Based Pre-School Curriculum and, in the spirit of continuous learning, we add key elements of other early child development programmes such as the UK EYFS, to the mix.

Our monthly themes include: My Family, Occupations, The Zoo, Healthy Living etc …and these, combined with our Tri-Lingual programme (English, Bahasa Malay and Mandarin), make KindiZoo a great place for preparing kids for both International and Local School applications, with regular parent/teacher child assessments diarized each term. We also love to celebrate all the wonderful festivals and holidays found in this amazing multi-cultural society that we live in helping our kids to become Mini-Citizens of the World.

OUR HOME

KindiZoo is based in a beautiful little end of terrace house with a garden providing plenty of outdoor space for the kids to explore, create (we have an outside Art Gallery, Kids Veggie Patch, Water Play, Tree House and Sandpit!)…..run and jump and most importantly have fun!

…and inside our treasure-filled classrooms we have room for:

Nursery 1: 3 years

Nursery 2: 4 years

Kindi 1:  5 years

Kindi 2:  6 years

OUR TEACHERS

…are all experienced, fully qualified, first aid trained experts in early childhood education. More importantly they all share and are driven by one premise – that “it’s all about the child” first and foremost. Many are also parents themselves, which provides them with that extra special inbuilt kid-radar and ability to engage effectively, with both the children and their families.

SECURITY AND HEALTH & SAFETY

KindiZoo kids’ safety is of paramount importance to us, so we have invested in CCTV and our electronic gate is locked at all times unless opened by one of our teachers. Our videocom system allows us to easily identify only those people authorized to drop off and pick up children, before allowing them entry. Once in, parents are welcomed into the house to see their children’s classrooms, artwork, environment etc. and all children are signed in and out each day and a record of this kept. We also have a fully functioning alarm system.

KindiZoo kids are also provided with a “Keep me safe in the Tropics” kit at the beginning of the school year, which includes: A Sunhat, Kids Sun Screen, Organic deet-free Mosquito repellant, an Anti-Mozzie wrist band and kid sized face masks for hazy day use.

So that we don’t risk spreading illnesses through our Zoo community, we also conduct a thorough health-check for each child immediately upon arrival at school and we ask for parents help in identifying any potential illness by carefully monitoring their child beforehand. We are also very careful about partnering with parents to understand any ongoing health issues that your child may have and will support and assist in overcoming these in as supportive a way as possible, with your authority.

HEALTHY EATING & OUR ENVIRONMENT

KindiZoo will provide a variety of healthy foods to fuel our kids at snack times and lunch will be catered for onsite and provided for from Term 2 onwards for children on the Full Day Programme. Please note we have a strict no-nuts policy for all foods entering the school, as some children have this and other food allergies so ask that this is carefully monitored by everyone.

KindiZoo also wants to do our part to protect this beautiful world and advocates reducing, reusing and recycling. We also welcome gifts of cardboard egg cartons, tubes, small boxes etc for Junk Modelling and other arts and crafts activities!

ZOO VOLUNTEERS

KindiZoo embraces parental involvement in creating a strong school community and we would love to see you volunteer to read to your child’s class, strum your guitar in a music session, run a cookery class etc. So if you have a talent you would like to share with the kids, please let us know!

OUR TERM DATES & HOURS

At KindiZoo we appreciate that early years learning is almost a 24 hour/365 days a year process for our little ones and as many of our kids’ parents both work full-time, our hours also reflect this. We are therefore open all year around, with the exception of the major public holidays, offering KindiZoo Camp - Holiday Activity Programmes that complement our formal curricular terms times, which for 2014/2015 are as follows:

Term 1 September- December

Term 2 January – March

Term 3 April – July

School Hours: KindiZoo is open from 8.30am-6pm

Full Day Programme runs between 9am-4pm and we encourage kids from Nursery upward to attend, thus benefitting from continuity in their learning. They will still all have a nap/quiet period after lunch to recharge before the afternoon’s activities commence.

Half Day Programme runs between 9am-12.30pm – recommended for our smaller Zoo kids or children transitioning from home to a school environment for the first time.

Our KindiZoo Camp - Holiday Activity Programmes run back to back with our Curricular Term dates
