Key Responsibilities

Machine Setup & Operations
Supervise daily machine setup by technicians to ensure all machines are ready on schedule.
Validate setup parameters for quality, cycle time, and consistency.
Troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimize machine downtime.
Maintenance Oversight
Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance schedules (daily/weekly/monthly).
Ensure timely completion of all maintenance tasks and documentation.
Coordinate quick response for unplanned breakdowns and ensure root cause analysis is done.
Process Optimization
Analyze operational performance and propose improvements to reduce cycle time, increase efficiency, and minimize rejects.
Implement process improvements through Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma tools.
Support implementation of new equipment, tooling trials, and parameter optimization.
Quality & Safety Assurance
Work closely with quality teams to ensure molded parts meet specifications.
Implement corrective actions for any setup-related quality issues.
Enforce safety protocols and conduct periodic safety audits within the department.
Team Leadership
Manage a team of setup technicians and maintenance staff; assign tasks and monitor execution.
Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and performance feedback.
Build a skilled and motivated technical team capable of supporting high-mix, high-volume operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with production, quality, and project teams to ensure technical readiness and alignment with production goals.
Support new product launches by validating technical feasibility and ensuring setup capability.
Liaise between departments to address technical concerns and streamline production flow.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on machine setup, downtime, maintenance completion, and technical issues.
Maintain accurate records for machine parameters, mold changes, and preventive maintenance.
Present performance metrics and improvement plans to the Plant Manager.

Qualifications

Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of working experience in injection molding, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or assistant manager/managerial role.
Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, mold setup, and maintenance best practices.
Skills:
Hands-on technical troubleshooting and process optimization.
Team leadership and staff development.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma is an added advantage.
Proficient in machine setup documentation, reporting, and basic production data analysis.
Other Attributes:
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and proactive in problem-solving.
Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and lead a technical team across multiple shifts.
Fresh graduates with strong academic results in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering are also encouraged to apply and will be considered for junior technical roles under this department.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month

Supplemental Pay:

Performance bonus
