1. Audit & Assurance

Plan, execute, and report on internal audits for branch operations, treasury, finance, compliance, and IT systems.
Conduct regular branch audits to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over cash handling, foreign currency stock, vault management, and transactions.
Perform surprise cash counts and foreign currency counts at branches and head office.
Review accuracy and completeness of financial and operational records.

2. Regulatory & Compliance Audit

Assess compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines, AMLA, KYC, CDD, EDD, STR, CTR, and record-keeping requirements.
Review transaction monitoring processes and suspicious transaction escalation procedures.
Evaluate effectiveness of sanctions screening, customer risk profiling, and ongoing monitoring.
Ensure regulatory reports are accurate and submitted within timelines.

4. Fraud Prevention & Investigation

Detect red flags relating to fraud, theft, collusion, or policy breaches.
Conduct investigations when irregularities are identified.
Prepare investigation reports with root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations.

5. Reporting & Follow-Up

Prepare clear audit reports with findings, risk ratings, and practical recommendations.
Present audit findings to management and/or Audit Committee.
Track and follow up on implementation of corrective actions.
