In IT companies, it is not necessarily unreasonable to request hybrid mode for HR and project managers. However, the specific reasons for the rejection of your request may vary based on company policies or specific project requirements. It is common for IT companies to prioritize onsite work due to the collaborative nature of the industry and the need for effective communication and teamwork. Moreover, certain projects may require close coordination and interaction among team members, making onsite presence crucial. As for the relocation of offices to areas like Snow City or Petaling Jaya, it is often driven by factors such as cost, space availability, or proximity to clients. While these decisions can inconvenience employees, they are usually made to maximize operational efficiency or improve the overall working environment.Regarding the hybrid work arrangement, it is possible that certain roles within the IT company, such as HR or non-IT staff, may have more flexibility due to the nature of their tasks. For example, HR personnel may not require constant physical proximity to the rest of the team. Similarly, non-IT employees may have different job requirements that allow them to work in a hybrid or remote mode. It is important to consider the specific demands and responsibilities of different roles within the company. It is worth mentioning that the availability of hybrid or remote work options can vary between countries and industries. While it may be easier to find such arrangements in other countries or branches, it does not necessarily mean that all companies within those locations offer the same flexibility. Each company establishes its own policies based on various factors like culture, industry practices, and project requirements.Ultimately, it is advisable to have open and transparent communication with your project manager or HR department to understand the rationale behind their decision and explore any possible compromises or alternatives. It may also be helpful to further emphasize how the hybrid work arrangement can still ensure productivity while addressing your personal circumstances, such as the long distance between your home and the new office location.
