Job Description

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Account Manager to oversee and manage the Company's entire finance and accounting function. The ideal candidate must be capable of independently handling the full set of accounts while serving as a trusted financial advisor to Management. This role requires strong expertise in financial reporting, cash flow management, taxation, budgeting, statutory compliance, audit coordination, and business financial planning. The successful candidate is expected to provide accurate financial insights, support strategic business decisions, and ensure the Company's financial health and compliance with all applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and maintain the Company's full set of accounts, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Bank Reconciliation, and Journal Entries.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, and other management reports.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor, analyse, and explain the Company's financial performance to Directors and Management, providing practical recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage the Company's cash flow, working capital, and financial forecasts to ensure sufficient funds for daily operations and future business growth.
  • Advise Management on cash flow planning, financial risks, cost control, profitability, budgeting, investment decisions, and overall financial strategy.
  • Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses while monitoring departmental spending and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), the Companies Act, LHDN regulations, SST requirements, and all other statutory obligations.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, government authorities, and other external stakeholders on all finance-related matters.
  • Coordinate and support annual audits, tax filings, corporate tax computations, SST submissions, withholding tax matters, and all statutory reporting requirements.
  • Review tax computations and provide recommendations on tax planning and tax-saving opportunities while ensuring full compliance with Malaysian tax laws.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting procedures, financial controls, internal control systems, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor company expenses, financial transactions, and operational costs to improve efficiency and maximise profitability.
  • Prepare financial analyses, business performance reports, and management presentations to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Evaluate business performance, identify financial risks, and recommend practical solutions to improve operational efficiency and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Manage banking facilities, financing, loan applications, banking relationships, and treasury-related matters where required.
  • Supervise and guide the finance team, where applicable, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with Company policies.
  • Ensure all accounting records, supporting documents, and financial information are properly maintained, organised, and kept confidential.
  • Undertake any other finance, accounting, taxation, or administrative duties assigned by Management from time to time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant working experience, with proven experience in independently handling a full set of accounts.
  • Proficient in Mandarin is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, taxation, SST, corporate tax, statutory compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise Management on financial performance, cash flow management, budgeting, taxation, business planning, and financial decision-making.
  • Experience liaising with auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretaries, and government authorities.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as SQL Accounting, AutoCount, UBS, Xero, QuickBooks, or equivalent, as well as Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, financial planning, and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, accountability, and confidentiality.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain financial reports, cash flow, taxation matters, and overall business performance to Management, while providing strategic financial advice and recommendations.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
