Responsibilities

SEO Specialist (Remote)

at Singapore's leading AI training provider

Full-time | Singapore | Marketing | RemoteThe opportunity

The companies that win long-term are the ones that build organic channels that compound - and at Vertical Institute, SEO is one of the highest-leverage investments we can make in sustained growth. We are looking for an SEO Specialist who understands that and has the technical depth and content instincts to execute against it.

You will own the SEO function end-to-end - technical health, keyword strategy, content optimisation, and link acquisition - reporting to the SEO Manager. At the senior specialist level, we expect you to bring your own point of view on what is holding the site back and what should be prioritised next. You will work closely with the content, design, and tech teams to make sure SEO is embedded into how the company creates and publishes, not bolted on after the fact.

We are not looking for someone who runs monthly audits and reports on rankings. We are looking for someone who treats organic search as a growth channel with real commercial stakes - who connects keyword opportunities to enrolment outcomes and builds the case for what needs to change and why. If that is how you think about SEO, we want to talk.

What you will own

Technical SEO

  • Own the technical health of the site - crawlability, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and mobile performance - with the rigour to identify issues before they affect rankings.
  • Conduct regular technical audits and prioritise fixes in collaboration with the tech team, translating SEO requirements into clear, actionable briefs that engineers can execute against.
  • Monitor and maintain site architecture and internal linking structures to support crawl efficiency and authority distribution across key pages.

Keyword strategy and content optimisation

  • Own keyword research and search intent mapping across the full site - identifying opportunities that connect what people are searching for to the courses and programmes Vertical Institute offers.
  • Optimise existing pages for search performance - titles, meta descriptions, headings, body copy, and internal links - with an eye on both rankings and conversion, not just traffic.
  • Work closely with the content team to brief and review SEO-optimised content that is genuinely useful to the reader, not just structured for algorithms.
  • Build and maintain a keyword gap analysis that surfaces where the site is underperforming relative to the volume available.

Link acquisition and authority building

  • Develop and execute a link acquisition strategy that builds domain authority through genuine editorial placements - not directories and paid links.
  • Identify partnership, PR, and content collaboration opportunities that serve both SEO and brand objectives simultaneously.
  • Track backlink profile health and proactively address toxic or low-quality links before they become a liability.

Analytics, reporting, and commercial alignment

  • Own SEO reporting across rankings, organic traffic, and conversion performance - presenting results to the SEO Manager with a clear point of view on what is working and what needs to change.
  • Set up and maintain accurate tracking across Google Search Console, GA4, and any additional SEO tooling, ensuring the data the team relies on is clean and reliable.
  • Connect organic search performance to enrolment and pipeline outcomes - making the commercial value of SEO visible to senior leadership, not just the marketing team.
  • Work alongside the Performance Marketing team to identify where paid and organic can complement each other across high-value keywords and audience segments.

What we look for

We are looking for someone with genuine depth across both technical and content SEO - not a specialist in one who is learning the other. Beyond that:

  • 4 to 6 years of hands-on SEO experience, with a demonstrable track record of driving organic growth - not just maintaining rankings inherited from someone else.
  • Strong technical SEO competency - you can read a crawl report, diagnose a Core Web Vitals issue, and write a structured data implementation brief without needing to look things up.
  • Solid keyword research and content strategy skills - you understand search intent at a nuanced level and know how to map it to a site architecture that converts.
  • Proficient with SEO tooling - Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and GA4 at minimum.
  • Experience collaborating with developers and content teams - you communicate SEO requirements clearly to people who do not think in keywords and crawl budgets.
  • Commercially minded - you think about organic traffic in terms of what it produces downstream, not just how much of it there is.
  • Experience in education, EdTech, SaaS, or content-heavy B2C environments is a strong advantage.

Why this role

  • Full SEO ownership
  • Technical, content, and link acquisition - all yours. No narrow remit, no agency doing the real work while you report on it.
  • A channel worth building
  • AI upskilling is a high-intent search category with strong and growing demand. The organic opportunity here is real and largely untapped.
  • Cross-functional integration
  • You work directly with tech, content, and paid teams. SEO here is embedded in how the company operates, not treated as a side project.
  • Clear path upward
  • You report to the SEO Manager with direct visibility into how the function is run at the leadership level. Strong performers here grow into that role.
