Position: Kitchen Chef Assistant
Job Responsibilities:

• Daily preparation and presentation of both bakery items and hot kitchen dishes.
• Cook and prepare a range of hot dishes for the cafe menu, including breakfast, lunch and special items as required.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and food preparation checklist.
• Monitor inventory levels for both bakery and hot kitchen, and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed.
• To maintain a high standard of all food preparations. service and hygiene in their respective kitchens according to the standards required by the management.
• Work with the Cafe Manager to plan and introduce new hot kitchen dishes that align with customer demand and seasonal ingredients.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Certificate or Diploma in Food & Beverage/Culinary.
• Team player, ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work efficiently as an individual if necessary.
• At least 3 years of experience in a bakery or hot kitchen, with proficiency in both areas preferred or proven experiences as a chef or in a similar role.
• Creativity and ability to develop recipes, costing and presentations to keep the cafe menu exciting and fresh.
• Positive attitude and good communication skills with team and customer.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, bread, pastry preparation, and cooking skills for hot kitchen items.
• Typhoid certificate/ Food Handler Certificate.
